Violas

The middle child

The viola, a bit bigger than the violin but not as big as the cello, nor as low. Its notes are usually tuned a bit higher than a violin's. Its been used in many genres, folk music, pre-twentieth century orchestral and symphony music and is even being used in some pop music. They can be used in many bands and orchestras but aren't usually used in solo performances.
